Carman's Kitchen - Nut Bars & Crunchy Clusters - Product Review
A supermarket food that's not GM? WHAT! For those of you who don't know what GM (Genetically Modified) is, here is a quick wiki explanation: " Genetically modified foods (or GM foods) are foods produced from organisms that have had specific changes introduced into their DNA using the methods of genetic engineering. "
[SHORT VERSION]
Tastey gluten free nut bar ranges with a delicious taste. Great for on the go or putting in lunch boxes. Read below for the great ingredients and benefits of Carman's nut bars. Available at most supermarkets around $6 per packet.
The crunchy nut cluster is great for breakfasts, it is low GI, fruit free and a great source of fibre. You only have to read the front of the packet to know this stuff is actually (and I mean this wholesomely) good for you. Check out the website to see.
[FULL VERSION] Carman's Nut Bars: I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of reviewing this range and absolutely loved it. The nut bars are great for just a snack, to take to work or pack in the kids lunch boxes. They have a slight cinnamon taste to them (I don't usually like cinnamon, but it worked well with these) and all the nut mixes taste great together. I think out of the two nut bar ranges (out of seven I must add!!) that I tried, the Almond, Cashew & Cranberry was my favourite . They are a good source of fibre and gluten free but lack no taste. The Greek Style Yogurt and Blueberry was also nice tasting. I must admit when it said 'Greek Style' I was a little nervous to try but all my nerves vanished after my first bite. Gluten free, only 160 calories and 4g of protein per serve. Carman's Crunchy Nut Cluster: The Crunchy Nut Cluster (honey roasted nut mix)... mmmmm, delicious! You can add this to so many recipes, it's great! I even just started eating them out of the box, by them selves! I also rolled home made protein balls in them and added them to yogurt for an any-time of day snack, the possibilities are endless. As the packaging says "Low GI, Fruit Free, Wholegrain Goodness and Source of Fibre", I completely back them up. The great thing about this cluster is that it doesn't have a boring taste and it's crunchy!! Everybody loves a little crunch. I can snack on it whenever and know that it's good for you. I have good faith in this brand as it is completely transparent with what is in its products and everything is made from natural sources. They accommodate to most dietary needs and don't compensate on taste. A big thumbs up from me. You can buy many different ranges from leading supermarkets like Coles and Woolies. Of course, you can find out a whole lot of other information about the Carman's Kitchen range on their website at http://www.carmanskitchen.com.au/ . The website also has great recipes to try on there and are easy to follow. Check them out and definitely consider switching your normal nut bars and breakfast clusters to the Carman range. http://www.carmanskitchen.com.au/
